Both! In general, we prefer to charge by-the-project so that you know your final cost and, at the same time, we are self-motivated to complete the project without cost overruns. For those projects where this is not practical, we provide quotes based on hourly rates suitable to the skills involved.
Small projects are, of course, easier to estimate. If we are starting from scratch and you need a clean spreadsheet set up with say 15 column headings and a few formulas, you can expect to pay $50. If you need a sheet-protecting password cracked, the price is $75. If you need other help to an existing spreadsheet, we will need to evaluate both your current spreadsheet and your Scope of Work. That initial estimate is free!
